That's if I pass my drug test. My question is this...

I was never a heavy smoker I'd probably smoke a gram (if that a month) now I have taken AT LEASt 10 dollar store test and 2 test from Walmart..passed all of them... I'm 5'10 don't really work out much.. but high metabolism.. what are my odds of passing or failing.. I was pre approved to work for us express

(I know ppl like to bash.. that's fine I guess. I was smoking to get some sleep from a stressful job and situations)

Do you have a name, or do you prefer Unknown?

Anyway...

How do you intend to handle the stress and difficulties while you are learning how-to be a trucker? It’s a long and difficult process...nothing like you have ever experienced.

These two links can explain it much better than I...

I suggest you confirm if USX is testing with UA or Hair Folicle. If hair, could take 6 months or you to pass a hair test.

Good luck.

How long have you been clean?

A lot of these companies are doing hair follicle tests now. That could be a real problem for you. You definitely won't be getting hired anywhere if the first company you try gets a failed test back on you.

Are you aware you will also be random tested? I was tested something like nine times during my first two years at Knight Transportation.

I'mma just go by unknown for now. The school says usx does ua just like the dot. It been bout a month since I stopped smoking. I'm aware of the random test so I don't plan on doing it anymore. When it comes to stress over the road I'll address that issue as it happens.. driving helps keep me calm

Over The Road:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

You just need to make sure you pass that drug test. Can you afford to wait a few more weeks? I would think that boost in your confidence would ease your mind considerably. It would certainly be in your best interest. A failed D.O.T. drug test is going to haunt your chances of getting into this for a long time.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Even the initial drug test during the physical?

Old School's Comment

Yes, that is a D.O.T. physical which allows you to get your permit. They are not going to grant a permit to someone who tests positive.

If you have any doubt wait it out.
