Every time you or he fuels the truck, a shower credit is earned. That credit is good for his shower, and a "co-driver" shower for you. Getting a free shower at least every couple days shouldn't be a problem. No, technically he isn't supposed to pay for your shower. But the fuel credit should be taking care of that. We fueled so much during my TNT that the credits stacked up faster than we could use them. Never paid for a shower, and I still havent.
Thanks for beating me to it. I’ll just add that I did have to pay for a few showers during PSD as my trainer wasn’t the most hygienic person. Money well spent for my sanity & cleanliness.
Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.
Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.
Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.
The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.

Yeah! Sorry for not clarifying. That was when I was in PSD. He actually expected me to only drive nights once I went TNT. Boy was he surprised when I dropped the news that I wasn’t going TNT with him.
Rainy & I flipped our schedules a few times. Which is more realistic as I’ve had to flip my schedule a number of times due to appointment times. She went out of her way to get me ascending & descending steep grade practice.
Mr. PSD just wanted to run me like a slave to boost his bottom line. What was crazy was that he was a company driver with lease op mindset. He’s since become a lease op. Go figure.
On the subject of showers. When on our first load, we went into a truck stop but her points weren’t coming up due to some glitch in their system. Some dude behind us stepped up & gave us free team showers. Then at AMBest stop in Flagstaff, the woman behind the counter also hooked us up. These were events that solidified my decision to make this career change. I like being able to share this comraderie with strangers I’d never interact with in other fields. Thankfully, I’ve been able to pay it forward & will continue to do so whenever the situation presents itself.
And I remember your advice to always leave a little something in the showers for the cleaning person. Thank you for that sage advice.

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
