I waited until I had my truck before buying stuff for it. Also, I never use the truck stop guide book. Trucker Path app is so much better and easier. What are you looking for that Millis doesn't have?

I agree the Trucker Path app is amazing, I'm sure the book will also be helpful in case you don't have data or something. I've only lost data once while in West Virginia for a short time when I stopped for my 10 hour break. Otherwise it has been great for trip-planning.

Nothing, I just thought I should at least talk to some other outfits before going forwardwith the one in mind
Driving While Intoxicated

Keep in mind, it's updated by other users. So it's not always 100% accurate, but it has been great so far.
You can back thru the history to get an idea of trends on any given day of the week. If you see it is always red by 1800 on a Thursday, then you know by 1800 it will probably be full.

Be patient. You’ll develop a feel for the time of day, the truck stops ahead of you, their reputations... you’ll learn that petros & tas are more likely to have spots than loves, flying j’s, pilots. Only cause the first 2 are usually bigger.
At Prime, they’ll give you a checklist of what you’ll need. A starter kit. You can buy everything & they’ll deduct it from you settlements are reasonable rates. I’m down to my last $125 bucks for all my deductions. Focus on each step. Orientation: pens, notebook, a clipboard/storage case, those kinds of things that you’ll need to move to the next phase. Training: food, toiletries, bedding, sleeping bag, pillow, etc. Upgrade: take notes of the things you used in your trainers truck & whatever isn’t on the starter kit list, you pick it up on your own.
If you can return the truck stop book. Do it. I haven’t used mine once. More apps to d/l are each state’s 511 traffic app. Google maps & Waze, definitely not for directions but to monitor traffic back ups on your route.
Baby steps is good. Take your time, be methodical & execute with informed decisions
Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices
If you pay for Trucker Path, not necessary, the prediction is pretty cool. However, like Patrick said, looking at history helps.

Only just ordered my atlas and pocket truck stop guide, called Prime and Roehl earlier. Waiting for them to get back to me before I settle on Millis.
Baby steps, and every one of them has been hard to muster.
