Apple has 3 versions. A free version, a US/Canada and a US/Canada HD. The last two are $150, but it doesn't say what the difference is that I saw.
Thanks Grumpy.
I don't do Apple, except iTunes!

Some of us do, though.

No doubt. But my request was specific to my situation.
But by all means... feel free to expand the scope!
As it turns out, my Copilot app was licensed (years ago). Installed it on phone and tablet and they restored my license! Probably no adds or limitations!
Turns out tablet is crawling on 3G installing the US map. Seems my "unlimited" plan slows after 2GB. Need to call them or stop in store. Wasn't what I wanted or was led to believe I have.

Yes, some of them throttle you after 2 GB. Verizon is 20 GB, I believe.
I thought I would post the Apple info for others who may be interested.
Switch to Straight Talk for better coverage. T Mobile will have much less coverage.

I use Straight Talk and have only lost data once for a short time, was still able to make calls and text. It has very good coverage. It should considering they use other companies cell towers.
Welcome to T Mobile, the throttling experts. Trust me, I too had T Mobile once upon a time, pre trucking.
AT&T or Straight Talk are your best options for service in my opinion.
I don't personally know of any free apps that do what you want, but that doesn't mean one doesn't exist somewhere. Good luck in your search. I use a Tom Tom.
T mobile sucks for coverage I have them now and constantly lose both data and voice.

If they can't be updated / kept current over-the-air I would not be interested. I have spent too much time waiting for maps to download prior to departing on a trip. Why I have the tablet with unlimited data. I would, however, be willing to run a Rand or Garmin App.
