Seeking any advise from military vet drivers that use V.A. health benefits on the road. Thanks in advance.

Hey Mike,

To my knowledge as long as you are setup and enrolled through the VA health care system, it's a national database you have access to any VA in the country.

I would imagine as long as you have your VA medical card id you'd be fine.

Thanks Brian. I am new to the V.A. system. I will be going off of my current employer's health care plan in the new year. So I will be kind a feeling my way through it. Was just wonder if there were any tips or tricks that over the road drivers may have that use the V.A. health care system.

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

3 1/2 years ago I went with my sister to pack my mom up from Indiana and had forgotten my pills. I went to the VA in Indianapolis, and they gave me a 10 day supply, no questions asked. Which was ok cause it only took us 4 days to get everything packed up and bring her to California. Anyway i'm rambling.

The thing is, as Brian pointed out, if you re registered with the VA, your covered at any VA hospital or clinic. So no worries mate.
