So if you dont know, Junior Honduras is a prime vlogger. Alooot of people seem to know who he is, even if they dont watch his stuff. Anyways one of our instructors specifically said not to watch his videos for learning pre-trip (which i havent anyways but thats not my point) . I thought that somewhat odd because he seems very knowledgeable. This got me curious and made me start wondering, just how well known is he throughout the company? is he what people would consider a "star driver" and a corporate idol or is he simply someone who has drawn attention to himself (for better or for worse?) through his vlogging?

I read on some other forums theres controversy around vlogging while trucking, and that Prime at one point tried to essentially ban vloggers from mentioning Prime's name, or showing Prime's name in videos. Ive also heard theres controversy around Junior Honduras himself because he's a well known vlogger and prime driver...

any insight in to this?

I know who you are talking about though I do not follow are watch his videos. Prime's Facebook has a couple of Q&A live videos where he was involved with. I take it he is a trainer and has a great personality. But that is all I have gathered. He set up his YouTube while Prime set up their Facebook live Q&A. Seems like a nice guy.

Watch the Feb. 18 cast on the Prime page. I think Junior said that he and Nikki were trying to get a some sort of promo exposure going. FWIW

Without commenting on particular people, some are really nice and want to help,.others in it for referrals and others in it for fame. ive seen the same stupid idiots who wouldn't listen in class flock to youtube "celebrities" and treat them like stars. they crowd around asking to be trained by them just to get on a "famous" person's youtube.

there's one who asks me to come to his company every time i see him. he pulls prime freight and gets referrals for taking prime drivers to smaller fleets but they use the terminals. there's another who was standing behind me at the doctors and kept trying to get me to recognize him. he even asked me if i watch youtube. i told him i'm too busy driving and making money to bother.

there are well made and professional videos out there and yet there is trash. i remember one lease op used an absolutely disgusting intro and used profanity constantly. that looks bad for prime. everything we do in public reflects on them. the it was "they can shove their truck" ok..next!

people have asked me to do it, or even to use my author website to write stories or do podcasts. i was too afraid of messing up and offending prime. that's my bread and butter.

as for the pre trip video...if prime told you not to use it....why would you?

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Rainy, I think you should write for their magazine. You are a good writer and articulate very well.

When I was getting ready for school, I watched some of Junior's videos. A few were educational, but most just seemed like self-promotion.

Well thats just the thing, I havent as I stated earlier nor do I have the intention to. Thats not the point of this post. The post is about does Junior Honduras have a negative reputation within prime?

EPU:

Electric Auxiliary Power Units

Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices
