Hey Rick. Yeah, you can enter your current license number but not the endorsements you plan on getting. In your situation you're actually applying for pre-hires so the companies you're applying to will use your current information to get a file going on you. When you get your CDL and endorsements you can update your information with them.
As far as qualifying for jobs, that's normally based on experience. So if it says you don't qualify it's likely because the jobs you applied for require some experience first. I would just apply like crazy to a bunch of them and see what opportunities you wind up with. Then you'll know which companies you have to choose from.
CDL:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
- Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
- Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

OOS:
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Thanks Brett, that's what I was applying for were pre-hires. I went through the list and only applied with company's that hire student drivers. I'll try again, thanks....

Call me dumb, I have tried to fill out the truck driving job application on this site and submit it to about 6 different company's for pre qualification. My problem is, it asks for my CDL license number, I start school on Jan. 18th. I do not have a CDL yet, it also asks which endorsements I have.. Do I lie and enter my class C license number and the endorsements that I plan to get on my CDL'S or what... If I leave it blank I get an immediate response that I do not qualify for any of the jobs I have applied for....HELP!!! and thanks....
