Way to go Raptor!!! Swifts new trucks have an 1800 watt inverter in them so they could easily handle two cpaps. Just a thought on why you need a CPAP trainer, it may be because of the noise the machines make, could be disturbing to a non cpap user. They would also already be set up for the daily rituals needed for caring for the machines on the road. Just a guess of course but I could see where it could hard for a trainer to listen to the machine especially during the first 50 hours if they didn't use one. Have fun with it and be safe!!!

Michael B.-

My machine is super quiet. So it will not disturb anyone. I went on a retreat once and one of the guys had an old machine that was like my ex-wife's super noisy I had to use ear plugs. But at least I sleep through the night now. Before the machine I would wake up 2-3 times a night. Doctors thought it was my prostate. So for two years they had me on these pills but it didn't help. I was still up 2-3 times a night. Then I got a new doctor at the VA and he sent me in for a sleep study last June and it's been great. So the only reason I tell this is someone else maybe in the same situation. My PSA numbers were low so it wasn't my prostate.

So even though it's only about 6 am on the west coast, I'm getting my bags and stuff ready to go. You never know when they will call and say,"Get to Lathrop, your mentor will pick you up there."

Also finally got my hard copy DL in the mail yesterday. Almost 2019, and they can't print them right there at DMV. But with the 9/11, maybe that is also a good thing.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

A bit of advice -- when you go in for your A service (50k miles) DO NOT GO TO FONTANA for it. I made that mistake and sat for a literal week! Go to SLC or Denver if you're west.

Well according to the office in Fontana I have to have a mentor who also uses a CPAP machine. So if they use one they will have an inverter. Hope it will be strong enough for two CPAPS. I will start a daily diary once I go over the road (time willing.) When I was down in Fontana, they had about 7 trucks waiting for change out due to miles. So maybe the new ones will be my mentors truck. We'll just have to see.

Kind of a weird time to be going out but I guess it will be OK. Mom and family not happy about that part (she's 97.) Might be the last one for her.

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
