My TNT phase with Prime Inc is over at the end of Jan, figure by mid Jan I have time to go home and see my moms. Haven't seen her since I've left Oct 14th. But to my question my girlfriend now wants to join me for a month since I'm always sending amazing pics to her. I know there is a fee but I cannot find how much it is. Anybody knows how much? Base on how long or it's a one time fee?

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

TNT:

Trainer-N-Trainee

Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.

The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.

The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14ยข per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.

Hi Rico...I am joining Jeff when he is solo and he is also with Prime. It's $10 per week for insurance purposes and it will be taken out of your check.

Thanks! I just read your post and I'm glad everything working out for Jeff. I myself got lucky and got a flat bed trainer first and still with him. We get along great but I'm ready get my own truck now lol

Thank you, and it does make a big difference when you can get along with your trainer. I know you are ready to get your own truck, Jeff feels the same way. He just started his 2nd phase so we have quite a few weeks to go. I just sit patiently waiting...lol

That's cool that your gf wants to go with you. Has she registered with TT? If not, I recommend she does so she can read this interesting material and The High Road. This way she will know what's going on in the trucking world. I sound like a broken recorder when I say I am so thankful for finding this site. However, it's true.....or I would be in the dark!
