I have a friend that is color blind and he drives just fine. He jumped out of a plane at 30000 feet and parachute failed to open and with braking every bone in his body he ended up color blind.
I think for the most part its just asking for a medical history more than anything.
I do remember being tested for color-blindness but I don't know to what degree they'll accept that. I know it can very from very minor to very severe so I'm guessing they have a standard of some sort. Your best bet might be to call a doctor's office or hospital that gives DOT physicals and ask what they'll test for. They should be able to tell you quick.

I got my application for the Sage trucking school and one of the health questions puzzles me. They want to know if I'm color blind. Does this disqualify someone from trucking? I do have a slight color deficiency but I can see red, yellow, and green like everyone else. Anyone come accross this problem?
