Those photos are awesome!!!! I just started a new topic about the photo gallery because of the photos you sent. Those are incredible!

Still have to figure out how to import them from the Photo gallery.

That's on me. I'm going to build an easy way for people to do that but I haven't gotten to that yet. I'll put a couple of yours here for ya:

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Ok, I got a dumb question. I see so many people talking about getting to the oil fields because you make so much money. If it were really that good, why do they constantly need drivers? It seems to me if they paid that much money, every trucker would be beating down the door to get in. They should have a waiting list of drivers trying to get in. The oil fields seem like a get quick rich thing to me. Everybody thinks they will make so much money. If you do make that much, at what cost to your personal life, family, health, etc.?

Get Rich ? Basically long hard work, and not just in North Dakota, pretty much every Roustabout has to have a CDL to move all the equipment. people are going where the jobs are, I was fueling at the Flying J in Minot Sunday morning when a convoy of 6 new school busses stopped to fuel. They were headed west to Williston for the new schools being built there. It's not just trucking, every tradesman and service worker is needed up there to build the infrastructure. FYI the 2 counties by Williston out produced more oil than every State in the Country last year excerpt for Texas

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
