I'm curious now, I thought to test for something specific like Adderall you would have to get tested for that specific drug. Another thing is you said you got tested the same day you took it. I thought i read somewhere that it takes time for a drug to breakdown. Wouldn't appear in your urine right away?
Now I would like to know if someone could give me a answer that makes . Yes it was a mistake that I took it I am not a dope head.Ok my point is this happened so I done some research. Now dot rules are if this happens to you.You must go through the sap program to be able to return to join your safety-sensitive job. Which I understand but after you complete program it sill stay's on your Dac and Dmv for I think 4 to 7 years. My point is you go through all of this too make it right by law.Now can somebody tell me why they ain't a law that says once a driver has completed the sap program and release back to safety-sensitive Duty. That the failed drug test cannot be used against him or her when applying for other trucking jobs.
You accidentally took an Adderall and just HAPPENED to get randomly tested around the same time?????
The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is a person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol program regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
"I swear I don't smoke at all! I was just in a room someone was smoking in!"

No specific testing for Adderall. It's pharmacy grade Cocaine (sorry amphetamines)so it will show up on pretty much all of them. Ever seen a pink Asprin? Me either.
There was already a suspicion in my opinion for you to get tested. "Just say No". Couldn't resist. Come on dude. Just like all of us agree. Look, your a liability not an asset when things like this happen. You are a risk on the roads risking lives of every day people. Not only if done in a personal vehicle, but now on a damn 80 thousand pound rocket at 64 miles an hour. My child,my parents, brother, sister or friends could be any of these victims. As well as any of us other and or family members. I agree with everyone else on here. That isn't a mistake. You made a choice. This line of work has clearly been defined to me about such substances and I for one would know exactly what the heck is going into my body before I took it. I'm not in such a rush to say give it to me before I check it out if I'm not sure of what the ramifications are. That being in any and all cases. I don't buy it either. Don't blame the company, but blame the insurance carriers. That is their right.

If it was accidental, an oversight on your part, then how do you know you took one of her Adderalls? If you really didn't know you did it then how do you know that's the reason you popped positive for amphetamines?
As stated mistakes like this cannot occur. The ramifications are just too great. I’m having dental surgery next week. During my consult with the oral surgeon we discussed several options for pain killers. Not only do I have my career to think of I am super sensitive to drugs. I’ll be using ibproben only. I’ll be out of the truck a few days as well to be sure I’ll have my senses about me when I get behind the wheel afterward.
Big difference between a prescription type bottle and an aspirin bottle!

C'mon Bruce, you can't be serious. Simply taking a SAP program isn't going to make the issue magically go away. Its only a minimum requirement. You will forevermore have to truthfully answer the question "Have you EVER failed or refused to take a DOT drug test?" Companies still have the absolute right to hold it against you.
A babysitter is caught getting high on the job, gets fired, completes a psychiatric drug program and returns to the workforce. Are you going to hire that babysitter to watch your kids?
