Remember the saying: Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Or something like that. You two seem very adaptable.

Last day of the first week of school. Our first home time is here and I can't wait to get my hands on him!! Every night we have been able to video chat and his excitement and enthusiasm is the highlight of my day. I have to work all day so at least that will pass the time instead of just counting the hours until we go pick him up. The kids are off from school and work today so we are going to clean and disinfect the house before Dad gets home. Everyone has been sick most of the week and the last thing I want is for him to get sick himself and have to deal with that next week. Not to mention how inconsiderate it would be for us to get him sick and send it back to the other folks in the class. Oh well, just another thing to pass the time until we go. Y'all be safe out there. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Here's hoping for an early spring so all these winter storms and unsafe roads will be gone for a while.

Maybe you should prepare an isolation room for him. Totally sterile. Like in the movies, ET, etc. Although if you can't wait to "get your hands on him", you might lack total commitment! Have a great reunion, and remember people get sick all the time no matter how careful you are.

Old School, I've heard of that. How do you set it up and how exactly does it work? I have Verizon also. Thanks

It is just a cell phone set up as a Wifi hotspot. You just can’t make phone calls on it.

As OS said you can do it with your phone as well.

Just like your home WiFi, you will see a WiFi network, connect to it just like at home. Your computer, tablet, etc should remember the password once you enter it, just like at home. It’s really fairly transparent.

Does it seem pretty reliable? I guess for y'all the truck isn't moving when you are using it. For me, I would be using it while he is driving

My big fear is that my trucker will start feeling like home isn't home anymore, but an obligation. Help us to help you not to feel that way please :)

I did not think you have much to worry about there.

I’ve only been doing this a little while, but getting home is what I look forward to.

I have never met a trucker that wasn’t happy to go home.

Awesome post HomeHalf!

Forget the correct term and not familiar with the process but definitely should be a candidate for "best of" or "hall of fame", whatever!

Maybe "required reading" for anyone here who is not single and considering trucking.

REALLY WELL DONE!

OK. I KNOW! We don't have required reading here!

But I know you will recommend this one going forward!

Excellent post and definitely not selfish in any way on your part. It has really given me a new outlook on what my wife has maybe gone through. Maybe another reason to appreciate and love her even more. Thank you
