These are the kinds of jobs I would think it would be worth it to work on having an auto restriction removed, yes?
I'm sure this is a stupid question, but why would a manual be better for these types of jobs?
It's not necessarily better, it just depends on what tractors the company has available. It probably wouldn't be feasible to get rid of all their manual trucks in one fell swoop.
Thanks for the answers. Suppose I'll cross that bridge after a few years of road experience and see where the industry is. Interesting possibility of the company helping possibly.

Spaceman yes it would, Old Dominion is all manual and plans to be for the foreseeable future. I'd you are interested one of the companies maybe willing to help you get it removed of they require it.
