Bring in your permit book with your company's insurance info? They're probably thinking you're an O/O or something.
Or possibly.. Kentucky does this too, they want you to buy a general liability policy even if you don't have a personal vehicle. Ask them. Each state is so different.
As a former NC cop, I know this one! NC required that you show proof of liability insurance for your personal vehicles. Because you class A covers your class C as well. NCGS 20-111
I no longer have a personal vehicle and cannot buy a liability policy without a car because i have a CDL. that policy would cover any vehicle i drive including the CMV.
If i didnt have a policy and no car, my premium would be astronomical when i do buy a car. So i got placed on my mothers policy for $150 per year.
