Thanks all for the well wishes.

Old School-I tried to get them in Lancaster terminal but they said not available at their terminal. So, it is either Phoenix or Mississippi to get them. But it's ok, I like hanging decorations.

JoAnne-not from my perspective it was too long.

Rainy- the challenge is on. Lol

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

That's something you need to communicate with your driver manager about. Let them know you don't have chains, but are required to have them this time of year. They can hook you up with a load that will get you to Phoenix, or Mississippi.

Driver Manager:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

I also have to have the Qualcomm fixed around 0730 Texas time. None of the buttons work. It keeps asking me to log in. So, there is another delay. I was on hold for 2 hours with Jurupa Valley (near Ontario),Ca. So I gave up and asked the terminal here to put the trailer I found to add it to my tractor. Communication is poor. What else is new. Hey I won't let it dampen my spirits.

Thanks Old School

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

Well I upgraded today to solo staus. I have a new mattress and will get a new Qualcomm display tomorrow. None of the buttons work. So who ever had this tractor before really screwed it up.

Anyway enough whining. I will pick up a fridge tomorrow or the next day at Wallyworld. I think Old School said they were like $200.00 for the one with the separate freezer. It will fit under one of the cabinets. Next month I will pickup a microwave that will fit above the fridge.

It sure is going to be weird living in my closet alone. No more snoring or coughing or Vaping in the truck. Will I be able to sleep tonight? Hope so. Still need to find chains at either one of the other terminals or buy from one of the truck stops.

Well off to find something to eat at the driver's lounge.

Legendary congratulations to ya Raptor. We currently have a load goin to your hometown so if ya end up gettin a load goin that way maybe we can meet up somewhere that trucks can easily park at dependin on the time. Anyway keep workin hard and before ya know it you will become a Mentor with Swift. 😀
