Standard advice here is to stick with your first company for at least one year. You will gain experience and show dedication to a prospective employer by not job-hopping.
I know there are some LTL companies in Elgin, I can not think of any large companies in that area otherwise.

This type of hauling is normally done by companies with terminals scattered throughout the country where freight is sorted before being moved on to its destination.

Food service, fuel delivery, and the like usually have local delivery opportunities, but best not to get into those until you have more experience.
