Friday’s protest drive is also meant to raise awareness of a planned nationwide shutdown by truckers
That should read:
"Friday’s protest drive is also meant to raise awareness of a planned nationwide shutdown by an extremely tiny fraction of truckers without any consensus from the overwhelming majority of truckers nationwide to be any sort of representatives of the group"
An extremist faction running on a platform of questionable credibility at best I would say.....
Idiots. When they do these protests do they take up all the lanes of the interstate? I'd say if they're in the left lane start ticketing em for impeding traffic. Can't do much about those in the right lane as they're at least doing the minimum speed limit. They're protesting because they feel wronged but they're doing it in a way that is going to anger the public and make them not give a dang about their cause. Not to take this discussion in a different direction but it reminds me of the black lives matter protest. Blocking the interstate and intentionally screwing people over trying to mind their own business just makes people mad and not give a dang about what your protesting. The only thing these drivers are going to accomplish is spending more money by burning unnecessary fuel.
Also, wouldn't this be considered a convoy? I thought they're illegal.

All those protests by the simple-minded dinosaurs are really making a difference.....NOT.
Plain stupidity. I'll be in Columbus tomorrow to deliver this load and pick up a trainee. Should be well away from there Friday.

Another “slow roll” trucker protest is scheduled for later this week in Ohio.
Organizers of the protest drive say it will meet at 11 a.m. and leave at noon from the Speedway in London, Ohio (exit 79 on Interstate 70) and travel to Columbus. The drive will cover about 150 miles, according to Andy Scott, one of the organizers. Truckers will travel at 45 mph, he said.
Like previous similar protests, Ohio participants are pushing for changes in federal hours of service regulations, more truck parking, and increased driver training. Friday’s protest drive is also meant to raise awareness of a planned nationwide shutdown by truckers April 12. While organizers do not make public how many participants they expect, Scott did say, “we do look forward to a good turnout.”
Previous protests have been held in Indiana, southern Illinois, and California.
