Guys, I managed to get up an rolling the second my 34 was up and able to get a shower, do 2 loads of laundry, and get the mandatory weekly truck wash all knocked out and to my consignee WAY early, haha.
I will certainly take a more efficient approach this coming weekend.
Chuck, I'm a new guy, so I'm not in a position to counter any of your points, other than I can't run recaps. As stated above, TMC runs things the way they run them, and I have to run within those constraints. They want you to have a full fresh clock by Sunday am so that you can be at your Consignee by 9 pm local Sunday so that you have a 10hr reset and ready to drive 11 hours come Monday morning.
I finished last week w/ 12 hours left on my 70 and grossed $1825.30 my first-week solo, and that apparently isn't a bad first week for a rookie, so I can only think my fleet manager and I did something right.
I really appreciate everyone's input.
Consignee:
The customer the freight is being delivered to. Also referred to as "the receiver". The shipper is the customer that is shipping the goods, the consignee is the customer receiving the goods.
Fleet Manager:
Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
HOS:
Hours Of Service
HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
