I've been listening to Dave Ramsey 4 years. About 6 years ago the ex and I were $45,000 in debt, credit cards, cars and medical bills. I had to drag the ex along on getting out of debt. In less than two years we paid it off. 2 months after we paid it off she told me she wanted a divorce. Ended up with the house, the newer vehicle, and half of my 401k. Dave does preach you do this together. Probably why we got divorced was because she wasn't totally on board and I forced her to do things she didn't want to do like no vacations and no extra spending until we were out of debt. Something I'm still pretty bitter about... Pretty bitter about

Cant says I blame you for the bitterness, seems to happen like that a lot. On the bright side at least after the divorce you weren't stuck with a huge amount of debt to boot! In today's world she would have gotten all those things anyways so no additional debt for you to have to pay off and the lifelong experience on how to stay out of debt = PRICELESS.
Dave was a key player to me getting out of debt.
The ol' snowball.
Didn't much care for him as a neighbor as his 3x20' front windows would superheat my apartment each day.
I have listened for years. The only trucker specific advice I recall was when a driver wanted advice on becoming an owner/operator and wanted Dave to approve of him financing a rig. Dave did not approve.

JZ, that’s classic Dave Ramsey advice. The only way Dave would recommend the OO route is if you could pay cash for the truck and were independently wealthy enough to afford all the other risks. What I see here on TT is that those who are thinking of becoming OO are going to have to finance the truck. Boy, Dave would call that “stupid on steroids”.

Anybody listen to Dave Ramsey? I stumbled across his podcast and I’m hooked on his advice, really makes for some excellent listening while driving. My question is this: has he given any trucker specific advice out? His philosophy with finances seems to fit in well with the common sense advice about trucking and driving we get here.
