Basically its 1 day off for every week on the road. Most companies want people out 4 to 6 weeks that way they can maximise your miles and the money made from the truck. Some companies might be 3 weeks but not many. Its like that industry wide. Now you can get a dedicated account that offers better home time but chances of you getting on one straight away is slim.
Guy hit the nail on the head. Prime does give 1 day for every 7 days out. But you are only allowed to take a maximum of 4 off at a time. So you can bank the other days.
So lets say you are out 2 weeks & you have a family emergency, with the banked days, you can take 4 days instead of 2 (because you were out for only 2 weeks). Just don't make a habit of trying to short change the system. That could cause you some undue pain down the road.

Just extra info when u start you prob won't be home. I left for Prime Oct 14th and I've been to my house once only to shower n have fresh meal and back to truck to sleep n start driving early. I'm in the middle of TNT phase right now
Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.
The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14ยข per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.

I start school with Prime Inc on January 28th. I've done extensive research on the company and it sounds like a great place to begin, but I have one question. Is the minimum time out 4 weeks with 1 day of home time per week out? If anyone has any knowledge of that would be appreciated
