You are right about one thing. Things are not the same as they were before. This business is even less forgiving than it was 30 years ago. Due diligence...... there are trucking companies that have been in business 15, 20, 30+ years that close their doors and file bankruptcy. You don’t think they knew what they were doing? You want to jump into the ring with Mike Tyson when the only fighting experience you have had is a one day seminar on self defense. You are a fool.

the trucking industry today... isn’t what is was 5 years, even 2 years ago. Its an evolving industry... so folks, no offense, who try to lay down the law as black/white, who are no longer in the mix... come off as bias and BS or worse

Ah, this is one of the classic reasons why any rookie in any field thinks they're smarter than people with many years or even decades of experience, because "it's different now and you no longer know how things work the way I do."

How would you know if the trucking industry has changed or not? You're the only one in this conversation who has no experience yet. Brilliant.

Actually, for those interested in learning more about it, the trucking industry is exactly what it has been for about 40 years now. It hasn't changed significantly since deregulation in 1980. I'm personally the only one in this conversation who isn't actively driving anymore. Everyone else you're talking to are currently top level experienced drivers who are making top wage.

As far as my knowledge of the industry, after 15 years of driving I now help mentor new drivers into the game and I do that by not only knowing the driving side of things, but also by developing relationships with people in management throughout the industry to find out what they're looking for in a driver and what qualities most often lead to success or failure.

So I know both sides of things; the driving side and the operations side.

Not only that, but quite a few of us, myself included, are also highly successful business owners. So we know how to run a business, and we know how to evaluate a business proposition.

But heck, you've done your research! Just because you don't have any trucking experience or business experience doesn't mean you should let our knowledge or experience of trucking or the business world stop you. In fact, I hope you go all in and go big! If you're going to make so much with one truck, don't let that limit you. Get 10 trucks......or a 1,000 trucks.....and do it immediately. Just dive in head first and go for it. Don't by a wimp and only lease one truck. That's kids stuff. You're obviously the smartest guy around and you're meant for big things.

I think when moderators suddenly require approval of responses where before it was given is answer enough no matter how this turns out.

Don’t fret-= your training program is still best; but beyond that- your are all too BAIS to matter.

Ah yes, another classic reason a rookie doesn't have to listen to people with experience, because they're biased. You're really hitting all the marks on ignorance today.

You call us bias because we know better than to agree with you. That's not bias, it's knowledge based on many, many years of experience. You think your plan will work because it's based on ignorance - you have no Earthly idea what you're talking about. You're biased toward believing what you want to believe. It's called confirmation bias:

Confirmation bias [...] is the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms one's preexisting beliefs or hypotheses. [...] People display this bias when they gather or remember information selectively, or when they interpret it in a biased way. [...] People also tend to interpret ambiguous evidence as supporting their existing position.

So a few lease drivers fed you some BS and you don't have the experience to realize it for what it was - total BS. So you bought it hook, line, and sinker because you wanted to believe it. Now that you've come across people who actually know better, who know your plan is a lousy one, you think we're the ones who are biased.

Again, I say throw your money on the table and bet against us. Stop wasting your time arguing with us or trying to convince us and just go do it. We don't mind if you don't believe us. We have a long, long list of people who have bet against us over the years and got themselves into a huge mess. We watch it happen all the time. You're just one more know-it-all whose about to crash and burn. It's nothing new to us.

So best of luck to ya. Bye bye now.

You will fail. Lease is the dumbest thing going in the industry, doubly so for someone with zero experience behind the wheel or writing the checks. Actually, more like hemorrhaging money. You have no clue what you’re doing. Obvious that you don’t read the tons of advice given here.

Thus the community? Is committed. So what in the face of this opposition would be considered success?

Seriously? I’m under no onus to report anything other than my settlements. Exactly what is required to show success under this level of limelight?

Seriously, don't waste your time. That was a poor request, to be honest. Weekly settlements don't prove anything.

Just go do your thing and forget about us. You don't need us. You have it all figured out already.

Besides, if you're so confident in your plan then why are you wasting your time trying to convince us you're right?

Jason, I haven't been approving your comments because the barrage of insults and threats aren't helping anything. This conversation is done. We've told you what we know, you can do with it what you like. You obviously don't believe we're as smart as you so why are you wasting your time here?

It's funny because on the one hand you talk so big, like you're above us and you know better than we do, and yet you're still here like an insecure child arguing for our approval. You don't need us to do what you want to do, and we have nothing else left to say. So go execute your plan.

Do though know how jaded you sound from this? You are like the boy who let the world burn because he couldn’t get his way! WTF.. thought you were mature... wow...and you are just a little boy having a tantrum... does that mean all your previous advice was BS?!

I'm not jaded at all. Quite the opposite in fact. If I was jaded I wouldn't have dedicated the last 12 years of my life helping people get their careers started successfully in this industry.

I'm also not sure what it is about my response that makes you think I'm trying to get my way or throwing a tantrum. I'm not concerned in the least. I've told you what I know. My job is done here. Now it's up to you to do what you like with my advice. You're free to use it or ignore it, it's all the same to me.

Then in the scheme of things you should have no issues with me posting my Settlement checks with Prime week by week for a few months.
