Welcome aboard Christopher! Sorry I'm late to the party on this one.
Both Schneider and Roehl get tons of positive feedback here at TruckingTruth. A lot of people go with those companies to start out with and report back with good things to say. So in my opinion you can do great with either company.
The two biggest things you want to look at when choosing a truck driving job are home time and types of freight. How much home time do you want and what type of freight would you like to haul?
With those two companies the home time issue should be no concern. They both have excellent home time options. As far as the type of freight they both have options to choose from. Look at the link I put in the previous paragraph. That's a link to a group of articles about how to choose a company to work for and it includes an 8 part series I wrote which covers all sorts of topics, including the differences between different types of freight. Have a look through there. It will certainly help you understand the various options better.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Well I chose Roehl I start in May. I'm super stoked. Thanks for all the tips.. Ill keep yall posted

Hello I am new to the site, as well as about to graduate from my truck driving school. The info on this site has been the most helpful out of any other forum site I have researched on. As of right now I am going back and forth between Roehl Transport and Schneider National. Both have what I want in my area.. I am still unsure if they allow you to take your truck home or not. The main reason why I am looking at those two is because they have the VA apprenticeship program. I also know of a few but have since decided not to drive for them. I hope to keep everyone on this website in the loop of what I do as I feel I owe it to you guys for all the wonderful info.. Have a safe trip hope to see you out there..
