How big of an area does that DC cover?
Congrats Tractor Man but now you are in a confined area. You will be easier to find and I fear for you since you started that dungeon business about the resident sweetheart.
How big of an area does that DC cover?
Not sure of the specifics, but, as far south as Modesto/ Fresno area. San Jose area. Sacramento area. Redding and north to Oregon. Bay Area. Southern Oregon (I believe 5 stores). 5 or6 areas in northern Nevada as far east as Winnemukka. There are certain stores in the Bay area that are delivered in day cabs and 48 or maybe 40 foot trailers. Im not really familiar with the geography of this part of the country.( Although i soon will be!) I'm sure I can be more specific in the coming weeks.
A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.
Huh, interesting. I'll be curious to hear how it's split up. I did Dedicated out of the Loveland DC for about six months, have been curious ever since about the... distribution of distribution centers.
since you started that dungeon business
To be clear. I did NOT start the "dungeon business". Have only been threatened with it!
Congrats Tractor Man.
Gives us wannabes hopes for our futures.
What’s a cooler temperature in AZ or NV during the Summer? Lower than a blowtorch? Under 110 deg. F.?
TM, sounds great man! I hope it works out well for you and that you enjoy the new gig.

Start on the Walmart Dedicated account in McCarren, NV tomorrow. (northwestern Nevada) The opportunity came my way and I decided to give it a shot. Just finished a 2 hour orientation. It will be my first time hauling reefers. Looking forward to the challenge. Also looking forward to the cooler summer temperatures. I'm glad it came along in the springtime. 5 or 6 months to learn the stores and routes before crossing Donner Pass up to 2 times per day in the winter. I'm sure by this time next year, I will be a pro at "throwing iron"
