Welcome to the wonderful world of Walmart. It's has its days but I definitely enjoy it more than OTR.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Yes you did. its your fault lol
McCarren, NV DC? That Walmart DC is the slowest I've been to. Took almost 7hrs to unload.
For what it's worth, I'd rather deliver to Walmart DCs than anywhere else. Fairly uniform in their ways of doing things. Big open areas that are easy to get in and out of.

I think this is different than what you have experienced.
Tractor will be working on Dedicated Store Delivery and inbound backhauls that are dropped. He will be outbound, dispatched to multiple store stops that although are live-unload, it’s rare to wait longer than 45 minutes per stop.
I'm guessing he'll be picking up a preloaded trailer? That's a whole different ball of wax. Easy peasy, in-n-out.
All the others from a delivery standpoint have been relatively quick and painless. This one took a long time once docked. Although, it could have been the time of day where the lumpers were loading as well as unloading. Doesn't diminish the fact that Walmart DCs are efficient.
This is what it’s all about...except in a different region:
I read every word many months back G-Town. Still thinking about going that direction after spending a few years at Jim Palmer. At this point it's still just a distant thought.
