I got routed to my OC today to take care of some insurance forms and do a reset. I got a big surprise when I got here. A brand new truck. 😊

Yep, built at the end of February. It has 2000 miles on it! 😂

That is THE perfect time to get a new truck: on a reset with plenty of time to get everything switched over.

How many miles were on your previous mount?

Ha! It's like you're watching me! I have SO much stuff still in the old truck. I'm gonna have to get it tomorrow. I brought just enough to get through the night. I'm parked right next to it, but my back is killing me. I'm laying on my new memory foam mattress and it feels wonderful. I'm also testing out the tripack! 🙂

If anyone wants to see a quick and dirty video tour, here's a link to my Facebook page. You'll probably have to cut and paste it. I'm not sure how the forum reacts to links...

Wow Rob! Nice surprise. How long have you been with Schneider? I am happy with my truck, a 2016, but I would be thrilled to have an APU and frig. What OC are you out of? Congratulations on your early Xmas present!

APU:

Auxiliary Power Unit

On tractor trailers, and APU is a small diesel engine that powers a heat and air conditioning unit while charging the truck's main batteries at the same time. This allows the driver to remain comfortable in the cab and have access to electric power without running the main truck engine.

Having an APU helps save money in fuel costs and saves wear and tear on the main engine, though they tend to be expensive to install and maintain. Therefore only a very small percentage of the trucks on the road today come equipped with an APU.
