Maybe because these new hires do not think they entitled to the red carpet from the beginning.
Not expecting a red carpet, just treated like a professional and not some scum.
Plain & simple. I can only speak for Prime. Anyone else can chime in if they want.
You can fly to Prime on your own dime. Just keep the receipt & they'll reimburse you when you finish ALL your training and upgrade to solo A-Seat. You can't drive without special permission cause your car will be sitting in their lot for four months or longer cause you'll get a truck when you finish training. But you'll have to share a hotel room & class room with all the "scum" that took the bus.
Why do you say I need a reality check? Reading the training diaries on this forum, there are numerous horror stories about riding Greyhound.
I said MOST people. Yes some stations and transfer areas are less than clean. Yes, some passengers are shady. But you need to realize, that what you choose to focus on, can be detrimental to getting started in this lifestyle.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Easy solution buy a ticket. For the record i like to think our military is pretty respectable you wouldnt even wanna feel what its like being jammed in cattle cars Things could be worse is all im saying
I think you're likely going to miss out on the best things that trucking has to offer if you don't embrace the adventure that truck driving really is. It's not just a job. It's not a simple, secure life. It's not predictable or easy or glamorous.
It's an adventure.
You won't know what lies beyond the next curve. The days you think will be ordinary often turn out to be some of the most memorable. The people you meet will be a cast of characters no movie could ever duplicate.
Trucking is an extraordinary job for extraordinary people. By that definition it isn't for most people, which is exactly what most people find out after taking a shot at it. So expect to pay your dues and prove yourself capable of handling this job before you get any special treatment that the top tier drivers get. But don't let that fool you either. The top tier drivers outwork everyone. It's a performance-based job. You have to perform at a high level no matter how long you've been at it. Your past performance won't pay your future bills.
Cowboy up if you think you have what it takes. This industry will give you a chance to prove what you're made of. One of the things I love about trucking is that there's no faking it. You can either handle it, or you can't, and in the end the truth will come out.
Danielshan, you in NH tonight? Passed one of your company trucks in my area.
I feel like you all have been retodded.
