My first load for my new company is from Lebanon, TN to the Walmart DC in Bedford, PA. I deliver Tuesday afternoon.

Kind of a short hop for you, or not? What do you think of it? Drop and hook?

Drop And Hook:

Drop and hook means the driver will drop one trailer and hook to another one.

In order to speed up the pickup and delivery process a driver may be instructed to drop their empty trailer and hook to one that is already loaded, or drop their loaded trailer and hook to one that is already empty. That way the driver will not have to wait for a trailer to be loaded or unloaded.

Sounds like a shakedown run for the new truck and Vet owned company (if I recall correctly). Let us know how it goes.

Yeah, just a one day run. Pickup Monday at 1000 with delivery at 1500 on Tuesday. Everything is all live loads and unloads, no such thing as drop n hooks anymore, lol.

Well first load got cancelled. Now I am doing a 5 delivery load from LaVerne, TN to PA. All 5 stops are in Pennsylvania. I am going to spend 2.5 days do circles around PA.

On the plus side, it's miles and additional stop pay and best of all, Pennsylvania is absolutely stunning this time of year.

I only get accessorial pays if the broker pays them. So stop pay, detention, etc... has to come from the broker. If broker doesn’t pay, I don’t get paid. It is what it is. But it is a nice chunk of miles.

And lots of hills in beautiful Pennsylvania, so running around PA has it’s ups and downs.

Personally, I love driving in Pennsylvania. I don't go there hardly at all anymore. Used to go several times a month. But I do Florida much more often.
