Yeah, he doesn't wanna pay for school. So I gave him the link to the company sponsored schools.

Says he is a professor and only wants to drive during the summer.

Now Class B

I think we are being trolled.

Since he is a Professor I say he just needs to buy or rent an R.V. and drive that around all summer. Would give him some experiance about driving something other than a prius. And then after two months park it and walk away for a year. No CDL required.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Lol, Yeah, and wow having to bring up RV drivers. those guys my lord. some of them try to act and fit in with actual truckers and and it just gets on my nerves. I dislike most RV drivers.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

I see them most of the year here around the lake. Tons of money but not a lick of sense of how to drive.

Professor, are you writing a book? Is that why you want to drive a truck? What field are you in?
