I see military equipment on flatbeds almost daily. I've never hauled any of it myself, but I know an Owner/Operator from my hometown who has some sort of contract to haul military equipment and ammunitions exclusively. It must pay pretty decent because I see a lot of Landstar contractors pulling these loads. Anytime I've done a third party load through Landstar my manager tells me how well they pay.
Yeah, I saw the cost for trans to and from port and it’s pricey. The trucks I have been seeing are all white and hard to figure out who is hauling....I am sure the time crunch to and from, and some stuff being expensive gets added to the final bill haha
MY company has hauled military equipment. We have a couple drivers who do on a regular basis. I would love to do that, as well.
I live with in 100 miles of 4 bases. We move aircraft parts and equipment all year round. And I do a lot of guard moves in the late spring and summer. Mostly though I do 20 foot containers, from the depot to the port , If I am doing it. The millitary used to pay more then general freight did now for the most part it has switched with general freight paying more then military.
Thanks for the replies....No lie, its gonna be hard to hang up the uniform....I would almost want to do flatbed just for the occasional opportunity to haul military stuff....lol

Do many of you get the opportunity to haul military equipment? Reason I ask, my state has a large amount of equipment heading to a port around the Carolinas. This morning, some of our himars we’re leaving on a flatbed and got me thinking about opportunities for hauling military equipment. If I am not mistaken, we contracted for a few 100 trucks to move equipment.
