Without reading all nine pages of this thread. I always have my SS card in my wallet. Always on me. Never know when it might be needed. That solves the problem. Get yours and keep it on you.

Ditto - have SS and passport card in seekrit compartment in my wallet. Probably not the greatest idea, since both are somewhat difficult to replace - but I haven't lost a wallet in decades, so I don't really worry too much.

Hey, remember when you could always identify a truck driver by the big chain that connected his wallet to his belt? I don't see that much anymore, however that's probably because sweat pants don't use belts.
