Will cdl jobs check for dui that happened when I was 16 in ohio?or can they?/will it affect me getting a job?

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Depending on how far back the company requires a DUI , you will more than likely need to let them know about it. Better to say that you did, than say that you didnt. Even if it was 15 years ago.

I'm assuming he's 21. He says in another conversation that his DUI is five years old.

Im confused... 5 years ago or 12?

Some companies will have zero tolerance some may have 1 as a lifetime limit. The further in the oast the better. Some companies may require 10 years, so be sure to figure out the date of that.
