Well we hear a ton of great feedback from Schneider drivers so that's a great place to get your career underway. And Roadmaster I believe is the largest chain of trucking schools in the country so you're 2-for-2 with a great place to get started.
As far as team tanker driving I'm not sure if you need experience before you can get into their tanker division or not. I know their bulk tanker division brings in students out of school, but I'm not sure about their other tanker division. You'll have to look into that.
As far as running team goes, some people like it, most hate it. You'll have to go out as a team with a trainer at first and you'll figure out right away if you like team driving or not.
Congratulations on your first steps and good luck. I have talked to a lot of other drivers and Schneider sounds like a good company to work for. As for teams, been there done that and hated it. If you are going as a husband/wife team or long time friends then it would probably be ok, but i tried 3 different times in hopes it would be different and always wound up going back to solo. Team driving is hard enough with trying to get good sleep, but if you don't get along or one person does not pull their own weight it causes a lot of tension real quickly. I would suggest to try it but make sure that your dispatcher is willing to work with you if the team does not work.
Schneider is a great choice and Schneider tanker is an even greater choice. Until recently I was a Schneider tanker Driver. I only met a few teams and they were all husband wife. Call a recruiter and ask if they will pair you or of you need your own team mate. They will hire you out of CDL school into tankers and they will train you phenomenally well. Good luck with school.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
I am a brand new driver with Schneider tanker. I don't have anything to compare to but so far I like everything. The tanker training is intense. From what I hear more so than the van division. It seems more rewarding and in some ways easier than van. I can tell you that after being with my TE for a few days it takes a special relationship to team. You are living in close quarters with someone 24 hours a day. And I have driven 79,500# over some interstates that were so rough that things were falling off the shelves in the back. I can't imagine trying to sleep during that. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

Thank yall so much, the advice is most definently appriciated. As far as Schneider National goes, I am positive now. As far as Roadmasters goes, I am almost positive I am going. Really do hope so!!!!

Wow. This is awesome. Seems Schneider National pops up everywhere I look. No complaints. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. I am also trying to get into the Tulsa Roadmaster trucking school. Frankly, Schneider is the only company I completely qualify for. It's almost as if God wants me to be with Schneider. I cannot believe this is happening like this. This has been a very ginourmas dream of mine since as long as I can remember.I have only three more months in Job Corps and then I can get out and in the truck. If I do get with Schneider, I'll probably go for the team tanker position. It pays higher and, I would rather drive with somebody than drive by myself anyways. Any advice would be awesome.

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
