Hey quick (dumb) question....did they **** test you again during upgrade. And its just a simulator test right?

No **** test, It was a 30 question paper test. Some multiple choice, some true/false and some you had to write in the answers. I only missed 2. One I missed was where you can place things on the front windshield. I put 6 inches or less from the bottom but its from the top. And I missed if a wheel hub is leaking what can that cause. Choices were A) Wheel lock up, B) Fire, or C) Loss of traction. I put fire. It was wheel lock up.

Congratulation! Maybe once I start training, you will teach me a thing or two or three!

Outstanding!!! Out of the frying pan and into the fire. I'm glad you hung in there and didn't let the stress get the better of you. Now comes the fun, but hard part - there is only you to be responsible to. I'll bet that 6 months from now you will be wishing for some cool weather to stop the sweat pouring down your body. The best part, it only gets better as you get a handle on all of the aspects of this flat bed job. I'm just now starting to feel reasonably confident, but I'm still scared to death that I am forgetting something. Enjoy the ride, man!

Wait, what?

Wheel lock up?

A leaking wheel hub will result in drips of oil getting into places it never should. A drop could get onto the hot brakes. Oil can easily catch on fire and is the #1 danger of leaking hub seals.

Wheel lock up? Yeah, I guess after the entire axle got incinerated by the fire...

This can't be right.

Thank you thats what I thought! I was just happy I only missed 2 so just said to hell with it. I know a leaking hub is bad anyway.

I actually had it out today to take it to the service center because my defrost wouldnt put out hear. Only ice cold air. I got it back and parked it annd went home to gather all my things. Brought the wife and kids up to see the truck at this point here.

Oh yeah, Freight shakers have a lot of room on the inside, is it a single bunk or double? 10 speed? Welcome to flatbed man, if you enjoy hard work you will definitely enjoy this line of work. Just remember, it's better to over secure than not enough securement. Be safe out there and its a hellouvatime to start out flatbedding haha. frozen tarps are the best.
