I called the police on a drunk driver a couple years ago in NY state. I had been observing the driver’s erratic driving for nearly 20 miles. I stayed on the phone with the emergency dispatcher giving updates and locations until the officer got behind the guy and pulled him over. About an hour later, the arresting officer called me. He thanked me for the call and had arrested the guy after he blew a 0.23% on the roadside sobriety test.

A couple of months ago I was working the midnight shift on patrol in NW Florida. A trucker on I-10 called in to report a drunk driver. He stayed on the phone with my dispatcher until I got the guy pulled over. He was arrested for DUI. The truck driver was a true hero in my book. He gave me a sworn statement and later sent me the dash cam video, which I forwarded to the state attorney. The attorney, notorious for DUI defense, entered a plea of guilty without trial. The driver's name was Domenick and he was delivering a load for Amazon. Truckers rule!
Dispatcher:
Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.DUI:
