I had to pull in at the Prebel, NY rest area traveling on I81 North on Tuesday but was waived through DOT was inspecting allot of Box trucks. Then today I went through the weigh station on I380 South and on I80 just passed the Delware Water Gap on the New Jersey side I was waived through both check points.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
