Amazon does have a Career Choice program. Those people are offered classes on their own time (nights & weekends). Starting this year they've upped the ante and now offer CDL training to select people in the Transportation Department (mostly hostlers - yard dogs) on company time during work hours with their regular pay. Now that's sweet.
I'm not sure the commitment/contract these students have, but they're all stoked about the deal. I often let on that with the CDL license in their hands they'll never be without a job again.
And yes, my company has a contract with Amazon.
Oh, and I'm won't be pushing it in Trucking Truth, but we'll be opening up a separate "private" school soon in Memphis. We have leased a property and are getting ready to open the doors on a few months.

That's funny guys because my job is also tied to an Amazon logistics contractor. I'll be managing dispatchers and drivers.
Dispatcher:
Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
