Illinois is a special state with their own rules. Like it or not, you won’t be able to transfer your license from another state, and must do the tests.
I have a question about this topic...
I'm from PA. if I goto into a Company Sponsored Program in Arizona or Virginia. Do I become a resident of that state, where I train and obtain my CDL?
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Brain B which ever company you test with should provide you with a truck to test in Illinois with, our state is the strictest when it comes to CDLs. If you get it in another state you would still have to redo all tests.

How does it work going to a company sponsored CDL school in another state? I'm from Chicago. Would I need to retake all the same tests I just passed in whichever state the school is in? Or is it as simple as going to the DMV and showing ID and getting a new Illinois license.
