Glad you kept it upright and managed to survive that excitement, Rainy! Things can happen in a split second as your related experience demonstrated. Scary in a hurry!
Did fifth wheel idiot driver stop?
Grabbed my fire extinguisher and safety vest and ran.
And left Goofball to fend for himself?

That's because he was afraid of this crazy lady!
Glad you're ok, that could have turned out very different. Just goes to show how quickly things change out there.
Wow, I wonder if there was more than one set of drawers ruined there.

Nope, he didnt stop. I think i saw his tail lights up ahead. It was the cop who told me about him.
The officer was on the median, tge 5th wheel guy drove past... and about a mile past the officer all hell broke loose. When he saw our lights swaying and some of us pull over, he came to see what was up... he past furniture all along his way to us.
He said he radioed ahead to get the guy. Nice trooper!!!!
Dare i saw cute too! lol
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
A lot of us in VA are cute.
Hope they got the guy. Some of the things we see being hauled or pulled on a trailer by the four wheelers.......

I made a new thread to not detract from another topic.
Last night, I was on I-95 after midnight and some idiot had furniture on a 5th wheel flatbed trailer attached to a pickup. He did not secure it properly and furniture came flying off into all 3 lanes.
Not only was it dark, but had been raining so the mist made visibility more difficult. When I saw something in my lane (right lane), I slowed put flashers on, and moved to the shoulder. Another truck came flying past me in the middle lane and smashed into a wooden bureau with drawers. Wood went flying everywhere and just missed my windshield. I couldn't stop or the driver behind me would hit me on the shoulder as he followed me to avoid debris.
Then right in front of me was a couch. So back into the right lane I went and the wood crusher moved to the right lane in front of me. At the last minute, he moved to the center lane to avoid a box spring which I ran over. His tires came off the ground and he almost rolled from switching lanes too quickly.
I drove for a couple hundred feet and pulled over with sparks flying out from my drives. Grabbed my fire extinguisher and safety vest and ran.
What i found was wires and wood wrapped around my spring hangers. No damage to my tires or air bags etc, but not fun.
A state trooper was on the median and saw it all happen as various vehicles crashed into all sorts of furniture. He complimented me on keeping my cool and not slamming my brakes or changing lanes quickly which could hit someone. One truck swerved across all three lanes.
The poor officer climbed under my trailer and tried to remove the debris before going to check on others.
This then reminded me of the thread where someone said they were going to haul personal belongings to move before going to CDL school.
STRAP this stuff down properly. I 95 even after midnight has much more traffic than other parts of the country during the day.
So, yes guys, I got a Non Preventable Accident. i am fine, truck is now fine, and no one was hurt by me. However, this is one of those times where if i was driving too tired or distracted, it could have ended so much differently.
Stay safe out there and stay aware.
