It sounds like you've got it made where you're at. Why are you wanting to jump ship?

Crete, or nearly any company for that matter, will begin ringing your phone if they notice a pattern of excessive breaks. You can call it micromanaging, I'll call it trying to run a business in an ultra-competitive market. They can't do that if a driver only runs when he feels like it. Where's the productivity in that?

Prove yourself to be a consistently productive and efficient driver, and they'll not only look past the occasional extra long break, they'll encourage it so that you can refocus and re-energize yourself.

The key is in communicating with your dispatcher when you need some extra time. Not doing so results in them having to babysit you with the phone calls.

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Never even thought about setting a morning PTA. If my 10hr is over and I haven't received a dispatch yet I'd be ringing my dispatcher asking what the hold up is.

If I'm already loaded and I take a 10+hr break my dispatcher won't say a word. He knows I will budget my time appropriately and be on time.

I suspect it's when you have a history of excessive breaks followed by being late to appointments, or the dispatcher just isn't familiar with you yet, is when you'll be receiving reminders after 10hrs that it's time to go to work.
