I had the test done when I went through Orientation at Swift. There were 2 guys that were bald and she took hair off their legs. But she said she could take it off anywhere.

You can't screw around with this. As Spaceman Spiff said, One failed test kiss this career goodbye forever. Period. If haven't been clean for at least 6 months, I would wait til then.

Shane...

The reason they don’t test before school is because of cost. There are numerous “no-shows” to both private and company sponsored schools. Huge waste of company resources if everyone was tested before the first day.

If you’ve been totally clean for 3 years, you have nothing to worry about.

FWIW.... I went to Orientation with Swift in Phoenix, AZ in January of this year. I live in Tucson, AZ. They scheduled an appointment at Concentra, in Tucson, about 10 days prior to Orientation for the Hair Follicle Test. They PAID ME a $100 ORIENTATION BONUS, for having it done ahead of time. You may want to ask your recruiter about this. Good Luck!

Hair holds the info forever. Hair on your head grows about 1/2 inch per month, so 1 1/2 inches of hair will go back 90 days.

The hair on the rest of your body grows slower but falls out and is replaced. Body hair will show use up to a year.

This may well be. But over time, the material in your hair deteriorates and becomes useless to indicate drug use. Drug testing only uses the most recent 90 days. And Swift only looks at enough hair (in length) to check the last 90 days. I got this information from the medical examiner at Swift's Memphis office.

Most every company uses 1 1/2 inches, or about 90 days.

Well, don't let my hair grow to 1.5 inches lol hate pillow head hair.....I shave it down to a #1 attachment.... And no hair on legs or arms, and can't grow whiskers/beard either......Man scaped so Pit hair might be barely enough to test hahahaha just not a hairy monkey.........Not like I have anything to hide, I don't even drink, much less use any form of drugs..... Have never even gotten pain killer prescriptions filled, when given....Aleve's work just fine

Like they say "don't do the crime, if you can't do the time"

Not having enough hair will be an automatic fail.

Essentially speculative. When my husband drove for USX back in ... (heck between 03 and 05?) A gentleman who had alopecia (aurealis or something) got hired on with a few (maybe many?) blood tests.... and a few randoms.

Last contact they had was in 09 and he was still there.

I bet Brett actually knows Bo. To our knowledge, that was his first name.
