Congratulations guys!

I think it's awesome you guys met up. Two musicians and two truckers - that's cool!

Damn! I wish I knew about this, but I'm guessing it would have been impossible to even attempt to do this while in training.

Hopefully, if I get another chance with another company and I get my own truck I could try to figure a way to meet up.

It’s all right man. I wouldn’t even try to meetup with people while in training but once you get hired again and go solo hit some of us up! Several of us talk on the phone regularly. That’s how Davy and I knew where we’d be. I’ve been trying to meetup with Sandman and Bruce too for a while but it’s difficult and Sandman keeps running away from me lol.

Sandman was just in Portland and Seattle for several days and I finally get a load going over there and now he’s going to Cali again. ******* 🤣

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Yeah, it’s tough to meet up with other drivers. I’ve been trying to meet up with Pianoman, but he’s usually parked at a Loves and I’m driving. I honestly have no idea if he ever actually drives. I think he just time travels! Lol. I know he favors locations that have an Arby’s.

I have been a member here on TT for a few years and I was impressed when Kearsey started the meet and greet. I and my wife became full time rvers in 2018 and when we were in an area near a truck stop I would use the GPS section on TT to see if there were any members near by.

So far we have had the pleasure of meeting 4 TT members in various truck stops in the southeast. It is not easy because drivers of course have time lines to be at consignee or they need their sleep.

Use the GPS section here on TT to see if someone is in your area and then give them a shout either by a post or email and you might be lucky. Remember that if you do a picture and post is always appreciated.

Consignee:

The customer the freight is being delivered to. Also referred to as "the receiver". The shipper is the customer that is shipping the goods, the consignee is the customer receiving the goods.

I might have an easier time meeting members now as my current gig can have me sitting in one spot for several days or more. When that's the case, I try to update my location on here at the start in case others are nearby. Of course, I have a decoy location set for Pianoman so he doesn't know where I'm really at 😁.
