^^^^ Again, Jrod. * LIKE X 10 * ... My hubby and I (well he did, haha) made KICK money a few years back when he hauled asphalt (non haz, just hot) ...and I was his 'co driver on wheels' .... almost like running Super Solo but I only had my CDLP. Actually met a co'hort of yours back in the day, haha! Up in Toledo. I took care of all the planning, navigation, et al. Ahhh, the good ole' days. The O/P can SURE make a WORLD of difference for her man, on the road. Anymore Tom's pretrip and paperwork (DVIR etc) takes him quite awhile before he pulls out of our yard (well, our home...he brings the rig home anymore through the week) but just me getting everything cleaned up set up etc for the following week (and yes including packing his 12 volt cooler, healthily...) makes a difference in time, and efficacy.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
