Ooh! Ooh! I’ve got one! When a driver goes on a trucker forum and complains about getting fired for (insert stupid mistake here) and blame the company, the four wheeler, the gps, other truckers, the cops, a blind corner, a concealed ditch, (Seriously though, watch out for those. They’re sneaky.) aliens, Bigfoot, the president of Albania, and or Rainy, (Sorry girl. You’re handle was easiest to remember.) but can’t take responsibility for their own actions. C’mon man!
I blame my GPS. I got turned around twice last night as I mistakenly relied on it. Right now I have her in time-out with the volume turned off.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
When I have a 9am appointment at the reciever, they put me in a door at 8am and I sit watching others come and go. About 12:30 as I'm the last truck and the dock doors still haven't opened on my trailer I go ask if they forgot about me. He laughs and says no that my load had 8 invoices and it all has to be broken down so it would take their entire floor area and it was either make me wait or make 5 or 6 other trucks wait.....C'MON MAN!!! That's why we have appointments!!!! Then it's almost another hour before they clear the freight from the other trucks so they can start on mine! Geez.

Big Bucks Detention Time!
I think ours maxes out at $75, much less than mph X cpm.
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.

Nice! Next time I'm heading out there, I'm going to buy cases of the real, plastic straws. I'll sell these at busy intersections on my 10 hour break. The extra cash will be used to afford food that I cannot currently buy in The People's Democratic Republic of California.
Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices
