I just reset the whole thing no big deal. The question was in the logbook section which I was enjoying, but it wont be on the test so I won't do it again until I pass my exams. Going for class A with double/triples, hazmat , and tankers endorsements. Will take at least some of the tests on Monday if not all. Also, I have contacted a few recruiters. My preference as of now is Knight by far.

Good news. I spoke with a Knight recruiter today and they want me. I just have to pass my exams for the learners permit first. I understand that many people have reported having difficulty getting in touch with Knight. For any of you looking at Knight (or any other company who hire inexperienced drivers) it would do you well to understand that these recruiters handle many prospective students daily. Do not wait for them to call you! I had to spend some time on hold to get through, but if you want something you do what it takes to make it happen. I was going to take my exams on Monday, but I'm feeling pretty good so I will take at least some later on today. I've done a number of practice tests and have done well. If I do happen to fail, that will give me a better idea of what to study over the weekend and I will retake on Monday. I still need to get rolling on the hazmat background check and my passport. These aren't required for Knight, but they can only help.

Passed all three no problem. I was actually surprised how easy they were. I will work on getting my medical card tomorrow and initiate the back ground check for the hazmat as well if I can. Might have to wait till monday on some things, not sure yet. In the meantime I will be studying for the hazmat, double/triples and tanker endorsements. Also on monday I will be speaking to my recruiter from Knight and setting up a start date. TruckingTruth has been very helpful thus far in my learning process and selecting the right company for me. The study materials of course, but also the member posts in the blogs and forums as well. Thanks to all for your input. Jarred

Hey quietman, question bout knight.
Do they only select students for their cdl training program from select areas? I would love to get into their cdl training couse, however I'm in KY.
Would love to hear about your experience when you start knights training as well. Good luck!

Beth, I'm not sure how to answer that question. I am by no means an expert in the field of have any particular knowledge about Knight selection process. I did happen to ask the recruiter about my location and if that would present any foreseeable problems ( I live in a pretty rural area ). They have a hub in Boise Idaho which is only 3 hrs from me so we agreed that would most likely be my home base and not present any real difficulties. Best thing to do would be to ask a recruiter about your location. When you call them an automated system will answer and you will be directed to enter your zip code then asked to select dry van or refer before reaching a recruiter. If you are interested in Knight give them a call. I would love to have another TruckingTruth buddy in my class. Good luck! P.S. I will do a whole run down on the training process as I go.

Hey Beth,
Trucking Truth has some good info on Knight you can find here which they train through a sister company at first.

Hello all. I'm thinking about getting my cdl and am currently doing the online program here, (damn fine study guide so far btw). I have a quick question for anyone who can answer. When you get to section 1.9 on the guide it skips to 1.12 on the next page.
Is this just an error as I assume?
Thanks.

I got my D.O.T medical card today and went back to the D.M.V to receive my CDL learners permit. Called the Knight recruiter and spent around 15-20 min on hold. They are going to call me tomorrow at 10:30 am to iron out some details and make travel arrangements to the school in Arizona. We're shooting for starting Tuesday morning which is when class starts each week. Might end up flying rather than taking the greyhound which would be nice if she can find a ticket for the right price. I'll try to give a regular run down on what happens if I can. Not sure if I'll have access to internet or not. I assume there would be some at the hotel or school. I'm not bringing a computer so that might hamper me a bit.

Brett, I love the course here. I can't recommend it enough to anyone looking to pass their exams. One small problem though, question 655 has a correct answer, but counts it wrong no matter what answer you give. Other than that, I am singing your praises. Thank you so much for this site, I plan on being an active member here for a long time. Jarred a.k.a quietman
