Class B is a single unit vehicle (straight truck, dump, etc.) - so you don't have to take combinations, and the pre-trip is different (lacks the coupling and trailer inspections).
You also have to take the road test in the same class vehicle for the license class.
A Class A CDL allows you to drive anything in classes below - a Class B doesn't allow Class A CMV's to be operated.
