What a mess! I've seen this same type of stuff far too often. I always wonder what was the source of ignition. This time of year it can get so hot inside those trailers that the temperature itself could cause the combustion to get started.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Is this Packrat's way of repurposing his old Caddies? I hope he at least removes the Longhorn hood ornaments.

EPU:

Electric Auxiliary Power Units

Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices

My guess is the trailer was fully engulfed in flames when he noticed bbn it and he pulled over and drove out from under it as quickly as he could to save the tractor.

If I recall correctly I was entering WV from VA. That's why the song popped up in my head.

Good thing no one could here me singing!
