Twice in the last month, my Omnitrac navigation program routed me to low bridges, one was 12’0” and the other was 12’7”. Fortunately, both were marked, (both were RR bridges), and I saw them soon enough to take an alternative route. So I didn’t have to call the police and back out of a pickle.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

I believe so Laura. I don’t think I know of any on Western Ave. I’ve been delivering to this customer for about two years now. I do believe there was once a sign that said 13’8 on that bridge. Could be wrong.
Just another unmarked bridge to squeeze through on the west side of Chicago. Western ave.
Is it Western Blvd that has all the low bridges? One of the two Western roads does.

You thought Spring was here!
You said Winter was over!
LOL!!!!!!
"6 more weeks of Winter", Phil predicted. Tack on another 6 weeks for parts of Wyoming. No bugs on the windshield today.
Then I parked at Little America and it was a completely different landscape sight.

First time I've seen this. This is a Swift company driver pulling a set of "Turnpike Doubles"--two, 53' trailers pulled as a set. This is at Post Foods in Tremonton, Utah.
Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.

Does it take a driver with special skills to drive this combo? Or someone crazy?
