Duly noted PackRat! I am a maniacal note taker.

At some point later this year I will make a post with all my notes from company training AND the gems of wisdom I've gotten from the seasoned professionals here. Hoping it will help new student drivers get some useful tips and maybe also help out our experienced drivers too.

Thanks again!

Add this one:

Snow, sleet, road salt, brine, etc. Once you get ready to roll again, Triple Check that all of your tires are rotating. These cold weather situations will lock up a brake easily. Mark your tires in some fashion, roll a couple feet, then visually check each tire again before you hit the road.

I am in Austin. I almost forgot trees had leaves. 51 degrees getting to 68 today.

I love my job! (At least today)

Yesterday as I was pulling away from the fuel island this beautiful restoration pulled in on a trailer. Not sure what year Mack it is but it was sure pretty and it was a diesel.

Saw this old truck on a low boy parked on the side of the road across from a Mennonite Farmers market where I went to get some produce. Came out a bit later and it was unloaded and gone!

I love how the moon and the ambient light play with the fog and low lying clouds in the background.

I've shared some pics before of the caves in Kansas City Missouri before, as well as a video from the Smart warehouse caves in Independence. Here's a dashcam video I recorded Thursday delivering to a location inside Subtropolis in KC that was a 1.2 mile drive in. Original footage was over 16 minutes but I'd sped it up.

Took longer getting to the dock than actual unloading. Their 4 pallets were taken off within 5 minutes of bumping the dock but they didn't bring paperwork for another 20, after they'd unloaded other truck.

Rob, cool video. I never knew that place existed and I found it interesting. At first I was amazed at how fast you were driving in there! Then when you got out and walked I realized the video was at a high speed. Duh. I had to laugh at myself.

How do you find your way around in there? Looks like the world’s biggest maze.

There's a staging lot across from the pilot off I-435 and highway 210 just south of the World's of Fun amusement park. You park there then call the business you're delivering to inside. They'll give you directions how to get to the place. I showed up at 7am and was told at 8am (when appt was) come through the 8600 entrance and at the 2nd stop sign turn left on Derrough rd. Take that to the end past the dead end signs and it'll force you to turn right. They're the 2nd business on the right. Then I'd gone inside their office to give them paperwork and get my dock assignment. This particular business has multiple locations inside, the other times I've been there I've had to enter the 9000 entrance and they're just inside, i believe the 2nd business inside and back in sight side.

Assorted winter pictures from October through January in Wyoming and Montana. I haven't seen as much snow this year, but -32° is the coldest I've had in the Lower 48.
