Short answer is yes. Most companies that provide the cdl school have it setup you test in the state the school is in, then you go home and transfer your license. I personally know Arkansas is very easy to do. I did it. It's a long story I won't bore you with, but very doable. I believe prime requires you to obtain a cdl permit in your home state before coming to class. If I'm mis stating that we have several Prime drivers here that will correct me.

It's a company sponsored school. They give you what you need to pass the exam, nothing more, nothing less. Private schools teach more. So to answer your question. It teaches you what you need to get started, and experience teaches you the rest.
Hey Joel. We have a number of drivers here that have gone through Prime's school and it's very thorough but very fast-paced. That's common with Company-Sponsored Training Programs. Their goal is to get you on the road as quickly as possible.
You will indeed benefit greatly from getting your CDL permit before leaving for Prime's program. It will put you a few days ahead of the others that have to study for a few days and then go take the tests.
I see you're already doing what you need to do to prepare for your CDL permit exam and the start of schooling - go through our High Road Training Program.
For anyone considering a career in trucking, plan on going through our High Road course before you begin your schooling. It will put you miles ahead of the rest of the students and you'll learn the materials in the CDL manual far more thoroughly than just doing practice questions or reading through the manual.

A Company-Sponsored Training Program is a school that is owned and operated by a trucking company.
The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.
If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.
Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.
